Wine Cellar Company has been designing and building custom wine cellars since 2004. Over the past two decades, we have completed more than 1,000 wine cellars for collectors, entertainers, and homeowners across the DMV — Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia — and the surrounding region. That kind of track record does not happen by accident. It comes from treating every project as a personal commission and delivering work that holds up for decades.

In early 2025, the company came under new ownership. Alex, a WSET-trained wine expert and experienced project manager, acquired Wine Cellar Company with a clear goal: carry forward the craftsmanship and reputation the company built, and bring a collector's perspective to every client conversation. Alex understands what it means to store wine properly, to show it beautifully, and to build spaces that reflect a genuine passion for the craft.

We specialize in custom wine cellars, but our work goes well beyond the cellar door. We design and build upscale bars that complement cellar aesthetics, handle full basement renovations, and craft furniture-grade millwork for kitchens, bathrooms, and living spaces. We also install custom saunas, slab stone features, and flooring. If a space in your home deserves a higher level of finish, we can build it.

Every wine cellar project we take on is handled start to finish under one roof. That means we manage the HVAC cooling systems, insulation, framing, custom millwork, and all finish work ourselves. You work with one team, one point of contact, and one clear plan. No hand-offs, no gaps in accountability.
